Numbers 10:1 (YLT) Young's Literal Translation

1 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
2 `Make to thee two trumpets of silver; beaten work thou dost make them, and they have been to thee for the convocation of the company, and for the journeying of the camps;
3 and they have blown with them, and all the company have met together unto thee, unto the opening of the tent of meeting.
4 And if with one they blow, then have the princes, heads of the thousands of Israel, met together unto thee;
5 `And ye have blown -- a shout, and the camps which are encamping eastward have journeyed.
6 `And ye have blown -- a second shout, and the camps which are encamping southward have journeyed; a shout they blow for their journeys.
7 `And in the assembling of the assembly ye blow, and do not shout;
8 and sons of Aaron, the priests, blow with the trumpets; and they have been to you for a statute age-during to your generations.
9 `And when ye go into battle in your land against the adversary who is distressing you, then ye have shouted with the trumpets, and ye have been remembered before Jehovah your God, and ye have been saved from your enemies.
10 `And in the day of your gladness, and in your appointed seasons, and in the beginnings of your months, ye have blown also with the trumpets over your burnt-offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace-offerings, and they have been to you for a memorial before your God; I, Jehovah, am your God.`
11 And it cometh to pass -- in the second year, in the second month, in the twentieth of the month -- the cloud hath gone up from off the tabernacle of the testimony,
12 and the sons of Israel journey in their journeyings from the wilderness of Sinai, and the cloud doth tabernacle in the wilderness of Paran;
13 and they journey at first, by the command of Jehovah, in the hand of Moses.
14 And the standard of the camp of the sons of Judah journeyeth in the first place, by their hosts, and over its host is Nahshon son of Amminadab.
15 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Issachar is Nathaneel son of Zuar.
16 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun is Eliab son of Helon;
17 And the tabernacle hath been taken down, and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari have journeyed, bearing the tabernacle.
18 And the standard of the camp of Reuben hath journeyed, by their hosts, and over its host is Elizur son of Shedeur.
19 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.
20 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Gad is Eliasaph son of Deuel;
21 And the Kohathites have journeyed, bearing the tabernacle, and the others have raised up the tabernacle until their coming in.
22 And the standard of the camp of the sons of Ephraim hath journeyed, by their hosts, and over its host is Elishama son of Ammihud.
23 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh is Gamalial son of Pedahzur.
24 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin is Abidan son of Gideoni.
25 And the standard of the camp of the sons of Dan hath journeyed (rearward to all the camps), by their hosts, and over its host is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.
26 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Asher is Pagiel son of Ocran.
27 And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali is Ahira son of Enan.
28 These are journeyings of the sons of Israel by their hosts -- and they journey.
29 And Moses saith to Hobab son of Raguel the Midianite, father-in-law of Moses, `We are journeying unto the place of which Jehovah hath said, I give it to you; go with us, and we have done good to thee; for Jehovah hath spoken good concerning Israel.`
30 And he saith unto him, `I do not go; but unto my land and unto my kindred do I go.`
31 And he saith, `I pray thee, forsake us not, because thou hast known our encamping in the wilderness, and thou hast been to us for eyes;
32 and it hath come to pass when thou goest with us, yea, it hath come to pass -- that good which Jehovah doth kindly with us -- it we have done kindly to thee.`
33 And they journey from the mount of Jehovah a journey of three days; and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah is journeying before them the journey of three days, to spy out for them a resting-place;
34 and the cloud of Jehovah is on them by day, in their journeying from the camp.
35 And it cometh to pass in the journeying of the ark, that Moses saith, `Rise, O Jehovah, and Thine enemies are scattered, and those hating Thee flee from Thy presence.`
36 And in its resting he saith, `Return, O Jehovah, to the myriads, the thousands of Israel.`

2 Make H6213 thee two H8147 trumpets H2689 of silver; H3701 of a whole piece H4749 shalt thou make H6213 them : that thou mayest use H1961 them for the calling H4744 of the assembly, H5712 and for the journeying H4550 H853 of the camps. H4264
3 And when they shall blow H8628 with them, all H3605 the assembly H5712 shall assemble themselves H3259 to H413 thee at H413 the door H6607 of the tabernacle H168 of the congregation. H4150
4 And if H518 they blow H8628 but with one H259 trumpet , then the princes, H5387 which are heads H7218 of the thousands H505 of Israel, H3478 shall gather themselves H3259 unto H413 thee.
5 When ye blow H8628 an alarm, H8643 then the camps H4264 that lie H2583 on the east parts H6924 shall go forward. H5265
6 When ye blow H8628 an alarm H8643 the second time, H8145 then the camps H4264 that lie H2583 on the south side H8486 shall take their journey: H5265 they shall blow H8628 an alarm H8643 for their journeys. H4550
7 But when H853 the congregation H6951 is to be gathered together, H6950 ye shall blow, H8628 but ye shall not H3808 sound an alarm. H7321
8 And the sons H1121 of Aaron, H175 the priests, H3548 shall blow H8628 with the trumpets; H2689 and they shall be H1961 to you for an ordinance H2708 forever H5769 throughout your generations. H1755
9 And if H3588 ye go H935 to war H4421 in your land H776 against H5921 the enemy H6862 that oppresseth H6887 you , then ye shall blow an alarm H7321 with the trumpets; H2689 and ye shall be remembered H2142 before H6440 the LORD H3068 your God, H430 and ye shall be saved H3467 from your enemies H4480 H341 .
10 Also in the day H3117 of your gladness, H8057 and in your solemn days, H4150 and in the beginnings H7218 of your months, H2320 ye shall blow H8628 with the trumpets H2689 over H5921 your burnt offerings, H5930 and over H5921 the sacrifices H2077 of your peace offerings; H8002 that they may be H1961 to you for a memorial H2146 before H6440 your God: H430 I H589 am the LORD H3068 your God. 11 And it came to pass H1961 on the twentieth H6242 day of the second H8145 month, H2320 in the second H8145 year, H8141 that the cloud H6051 was taken up H5927 from off H4480 H5921 the tabernacle H4908 of the testimony. H5715
12 And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 took H5265 their journeys H4550 out of the wilderness H4480 H4057 of Sinai; H5514 and the cloud H6051 rested H7931 in the wilderness H4057 of Paran. H6290

25 And the standard H1714 of the camp H4264 of the children H1121 of Dan H1835 set forward, H5265 which was the rearward H622 of all H3605 the camps H4264 throughout their hosts: H6635 and over H5921 his host H6635 was Ahiezer H295 the son H1121 of Ammishaddai. H5996
26 And over H5921 the host H6635 of the tribe H4294 of the children H1121 of Asher H836 was Pagiel H6295 the son H1121 of Ocran. H5918

28 Thus H428 were the journeyings H4550 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 according to their armies, H6635 when they set forward. H5265
29 And Moses H4872 said H559 unto Hobab, H2246 the son H1121 of Raguel H7467 the Midianite, H4084 Moses' H4872 father- H2859 in-law, We H587 are journeying H5265 unto H413 the place H4725 of which H834 the LORD H3068 said, H559 I will give H5414 it you: come H1980 thou with H854 us , and we will do thee good: H3190 for H3588 the LORD H3068 hath spoken H1696 good H2896 concerning H5921 Israel. 30 And he said H559 unto H413 him , I will not H3808 go; H1980 but H3588 I H518 will depart H1980 to H413 mine own land, H776 and to H413 my kindred. H4138
31 And he said, H559 Leave H5800 us not, H408 I pray thee; H4994 forasmuch H3588 H5921 H3651 as thou knowest H3045 how we are to encamp H2583 in the wilderness, H4057 and thou mayest be H1961 to us instead of eyes. H5869
32 And it shall be, H1961 if H3588 thou go H1980 with H5973 us, yea , it shall be, H1961 that what H834 goodness H2896 the LORD H3068 shall do H3190 unto H5973 us , the same will we do H3190 unto thee.
33 And they departed H5265 from the mount H4480 H2022 of the LORD H3068 three H7969 days' H3117 journey: H1870 and the ark H727 of the covenant H1285 of the LORD H3068 went H5265 before H6440 them in the three H7969 days' H3117 journey, H1870 to search out H8446 a resting place H4496 for them.
34 And the cloud H6051 of the LORD H3068 was upon H5921 them by day, H3119 when they went H5265 out of H4480 the camp. H4264
35 And it came to pass, H1961 when the ark H727 set forward, H5265 that Moses H4872 said, H559 Rise up, H6965 LORD, H3068 and let thine enemies H341 be scattered; H6327 and let them that hate H8130 thee flee H5127 before H4480 H6440 thee.
36 And when it rested, H5117 he said, H559 Return, H7725 O LORD, H3068 unto the many H7233 thousands H505 of Israel. H3478
