1 Chronicles 17:6 (AKJV) American King James Version

1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, See, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remains under curtains.
2 Then Nathan said to David, Do all that is in your heart; for God is with you.
3 And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,
4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus said the LORD, You shall not build me an house to dwell in:
5 For I have not dwelled in an house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.
6 Wherever I have walked with all Israel, spoke I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have you not built me an house of cedars?
7 Now therefore thus shall you say to my servant David, Thus said the LORD of hosts, I took you from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that you should be ruler over my people Israel:
8 And I have been with you wherever you have walked, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
9 Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all your enemies. Furthermore I tell you that the LORD will build you an house.
11 And it shall come to pass, when your days be expired that you must go to be with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, which shall be of your sons; and I will establish his kingdom.
12 He shall build me an house, and I will establish his throne for ever.
13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before you:
14 But I will settle him in my house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for ever more.
15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak to David.
16 And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O LORD God, and what is my house, that you have brought me till now?
17 And yet this was a small thing in your eyes, O God; for you have also spoken of your servant's house for a great while to come, and have regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.
18 What can David speak more to you for the honor of your servant? for you know your servant.
19 O LORD, for your servant's sake, and according to your own heart, have you done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.
20 O LORD, there is none like you, neither is there any God beside you, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
21 And what one nation in the earth is like your people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make you a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before your people whom you have redeemed out of Egypt?
22 For your people Israel did you make your own people for ever; and you, LORD, became their God.
23 Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as you have said.
24 Let it even be established, that your name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David your servant be established before you.
25 For you, O my God, have told your servant that you will build him an house: therefore your servant has found in his heart to pray before you.
26 And now, LORD, you are God, and have promised this goodness to your servant:
27 Now therefore let it please you to bless the house of your servant, that it may be before you for ever: for you bless, O LORD, and it shall be blessed for ever.

2 Then Nathan H5416 said H559 W-VQY3MS unto H413 PREP David H1732 , Do H6213 VQI2MS all H3605 NMS that H834 RPRO is in thine heart H3824 ; for H3588 CONJ God H430 D-EDP is with H5973 PREP-2FS thee .
3 And it came to pass H1961 W-VPY3MS the same H1931 D-PPRO-3MS night H3915 , that the word H1697 CMS of God H430 EDP came H1961 W-VPY3MS to H413 PREP Nathan H5416 , saying H559 L-VQFC ,
4 Go H1980 VQI2MS and tell H559 David H1732 my servant H5650 CMS-1MS , Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the LORD H3068 EDS , Thou H859 PPRO-2MS shalt not H3808 NADV build H1129 me a house H1004 D-NMS to dwell in H3427 :
5 For H3588 CONJ I have not H3808 NADV dwelt H3427 in a house H1004 since H4480 PREP the day H3117 D-AMS that H834 RPRO I brought up H5927 Israel H3478 unto H5704 PREP this H2088 D-PMS day H3117 D-AMS ; but have gone H1961 from tent H168 to H413 PREP tent H168 NMS , and from one tabernacle H4908 to another .
6 Wheresoever H834 RPRO I have walked H1980 with all H3605 Israel H3478 , spoke H1696 VPQ1MS I a word H1697 to H854 PREP any H259 of the judges H8199 of Israel H3478 , whom H834 RPRO I commanded H6680 to feed H7462 my people H5971 , saying H559 L-VQFC , Why H4100 L-IPRO have ye not H3808 NADV built H1129 me a house H1004 CMS of cedars H730 ?
7 Now H6258 W-ADV therefore thus H3541 shalt thou say H559 VQY2MS unto my servant H5650 L-CMS-1MS David H1732 , Thus H3541 saith H559 VQQ3MS the LORD H3068 EDS of hosts H6635 , I H589 PPRO-1MS took H3947 thee from H4480 PREP the sheepcote H5116 , even from H4480 PREP following H310 PREP the sheep H6629 , that thou shouldest be H1961 ruler H5057 NMS over H5921 PREP my people H5971 Israel H3478 LMS :
8 And I have been H1961 with H5973 PREP-2MS thee whithersoever H3605 NMS thou hast walked H1980 , and have cut off H3772 all H3605 NMS thine enemies H341 from before H6440 M-CMP-2MS thee , and have made H6213 thee a name H8034 CMS like the name H8034 K-CMS of the great men H1419 that H834 RPRO are in the earth H776 B-GFS .
9 Also I will ordain H7760 W-VQQ1MS a place H4725 NUM-MS for my people H5971 Israel H3478 , and will plant H5193 them , and they shall dwell H7931 in their place H8478 PREP-3MS , and shall be moved H7264 no H3808 W-NPAR more H5750 ADV ; neither H3808 W-NPAR shall the children H1121 CMP of wickedness H5766 NFS waste H1086 them any more H3254 VHY3MP , as H834 K-RPRO at the beginning H7223 ,
10 And since the time H3117 that H834 RPRO I commanded H6680 judges H8199 to be over H5921 PREP my people H5971 Israel H3478 . Moreover I will subdue H3665 all H3605 NMS thine enemies H341 . Furthermore I tell H5046 thee that the LORD H3068 NAME-4MS will build H1129 thee a house H1004 .
11 And it shall come to pass H1961 W-VQQ3MS , when H3588 CONJ thy days H3117 CMP-2MS be expired H4390 VQQ3MP that thou must go H1980 L-VQFC to be with H5973 PREP thy fathers H1 , that I will raise up H6965 thy seed H2233 CMS-2MS after H310 thee , which H834 RPRO shall be H1961 W-VQQ3MS of thy sons H1121 ; and I will establish H3559 his kingdom H4438 .
12 He H1931 PPRO-3MS shall build H1129 me a house H1004 , and I will establish H3559 his throne H3678 forever H5704 PREP .
13 I H589 PPRO-1MS will be H1961 VQY1MS his father H1 , and he H1931 W-PPRO-3MS shall be H1961 VQY3MS my son H1121 : and I will not H3808 NADV take my mercy away H5493 VHY1MS from him , as H834 K-RPRO I took H5493 it from him that was H1961 VQQ3MS before H6440 thee :
14 But I will settle H5975 him in mine house H1004 and in my kingdom H4438 forever H5704 PREP : and his throne H3678 shall be H1961 VQY3MS established H3559 NMS forevermore H5704 PREP .
15 According to all H3605 K-NMS these H428 D-DPRO-3MP words H1697 AMP , and according to all H3605 this H2088 D-PMS vision H2377 , so H3651 ADV did Nathan H5416 speak H1696 VPQ3MS unto H413 PREP David H1732 .
16 And David H1732 the king H4428 D-NMS came H935 W-VQY3MS and sat H3427 W-VQY3MS before H6440 L-CMP the LORD H3068 EDS , and said H559 W-VQY3MS , Who H4310 W-IPRO am I H589 PPRO-1MS , O LORD H3068 EDS God H430 EDP , and what H4310 W-IPRO is mine house H1004 CMS-1MS , that H3588 CONJ thou hast brought H935 me hitherto H5704 PREP ?
17 And yet this H2063 DPRO was a small thing H6994 in thine eyes H5869 , O God H430 EDP ; for thou hast also spoken H1696 of H5921 PREP thy servant H5650 \'s house H1004 for a great while to come H7350 LM-AMS , and hast regarded H7200 me according to the estate H8448 of a man H120 D-NMS of high degree H4609 , O LORD H3068 EDS God H430 NAME-4MP .
18 What H4100 IPRO can David H1732 speak more H3254 to H413 PREP-2MS thee for the honor H3519 of thy servant H5650 ? for thou H859 W-PPRO-2MS knowest H3045 thy servant H5650 .
19 O LORD H3068 EDS , for thy servant\'s sake H5668 B-NMS , and according to thine own heart H3820 , hast thou done H6213 VQQ2MS all H3605 NMS this H2063 D-DFS greatness H1420 , in making known H3045 all H3605 NMS these great things H1420 .
20 O LORD H3068 EDS , there is none H369 NPAR like thee H3644 PREP-2MS , neither H369 W-NPAR is there any God H430 EDP beside H2108 thee , according to all H3605 that H834 RPRO we have heard H8085 VQQ1MP with our ears H241 .
21 And what H4310 W-IPRO one H259 MMS nation H1471 NMS in the earth H776 B-NFS is like thy people H5971 Israel H3478 , whom H834 RPRO God H430 D-EDP went H1980 VQQ3MS to redeem H6299 to be his own people H5971 NMS , to make H7760 L-VQFC thee a name H8034 CMS of greatness H1420 and terribleness H3372 , by driving out H1644 nations H1471 NMP from before H6440 M-CMP thy people H5971 , whom H834 RPRO thou hast redeemed H6299 out of Egypt H4714 M-TFS ?
22 For thy people H5971 Israel H3478 didst thou make H5414 W-VQY3FS thine own people H5971 forever H5704 PREP ; and thou H859 W-PPRO-2MS , LORD H3068 EDS , becamest H1961 VQQ2MS their God H430 L-NMP .
23 Therefore now H6258 W-ADV , LORD H3068 EDS , let the thing H1697 D-NMS that H834 RPRO thou hast spoken H1696 concerning H5921 PREP thy servant H5650 and concerning H5921 W-PREP his house H1004 NMS-3MS be established H539 forever H5704 PREP , and do H6213 as H834 RPRO thou hast said H1696 .
24 Let it even be established H539 , that thy name H8034 may be magnified H1431 forever H5704 PREP , saying H559 L-VQFC , The LORD H3068 EDS of hosts H6635 is the God H430 NAME-4MP of Israel H3478 , even a God H430 EDP to Israel H3478 : and let the house H1004 W-NMS of David H1732 thy servant H5650 be established H3559 NMS before H6440 thee .
25 For H3588 CONJ thou H859 PPRO-2MS , O my God H430 , hast told H1540 thy servant H5650 that thou wilt build H1129 him a house H1004 : therefore H3651 ADV thy servant H5650 hath found H4672 VQPMS in his heart to pray H6419 before H6440 thee .
26 And now H6258 W-ADV , LORD H3068 EDS , thou H859 PPRO-2MS art God H430 D-EDP , and hast promised H1696 this H2063 goodness H2896 unto H5921 PREP thy servant H5650 :
27 Now H6258 W-ADV therefore let it please H2974 thee to bless H1288 the house H1004 CMS of thy servant H5650 , that it may be H1961 before H6440 L-CMP-2MS thee forever H5769 L-NMS : for H3588 CONJ thou H859 PPRO-2MS blessest H1288 VPQ2MS , O LORD H3068 EDS , and it shall be blessed H1288 forever H5769 .
